On June 10th I successfully completed the Panel Leaders Course organized by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, an important step in further strengthening my expertise in the sensory evaluation of virgin olive oils.
The program provided advanced training not only in sensory analysis but also in the regulatory framework, international standards, and technical protocols that ensure the reliability, consistency, and credibility of the official sensory assessment process.
Beyond the academic experience, the course offered a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge with leading professors, experienced panel leaders, and fellow olive oil tasters from across Spain, reinforcing the importance of continuous learning and international collaboration within the olive oil sector.
I am sincerely grateful to the organizers, instructors, and participants for an inspiring week of learning and professional exchange. Experiences like these contribute to raising the standards of olive oil sensory evaluation and ultimately support the production and recognition of exceptional extra virgin olive oils worldwide.
