The French Gastronomy Week in Athens (1-6/3), Merci Chef, returned to Athens for its third consecutive year, and I had the pleasure of participating in a special event dedicated to two of the most essential elements of the Mediterranean diet: extra virgin olive oil and bread.
For the tasting, we selected award-winning French and Greek extra virgin olive oils, paired with a variety of breads created by MOF baker Rodolphe Couston and Stefanos Livanios at Deux Amis bakery in central Athens.
The event offered a beautiful expression of the dialogue between Greek and French gastronomic traditions, bringing together craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and a shared respect for culinary heritage.
My sincere thanks to the Ambassador of France to Greece, Laurence Auer, for her support and patronage, and for promoting the gastronomic friendship between France and Greece.
I would also like to thank Jean-Marie Hoffmann, Chef at the French Embassy, for the invitation and the excellent organization of the week’s events.
Gastronomy is a bridge that brings cultures and people together.
Merci beaucoup Chefs!
